We have been eating here forever and a day. Sometimes their service (especially when busy) is a little slow, but the food has always been great! Now we do NOT go to eat sushi for artistic presentation, but for the overall freshness of the fish, and the rice. While their presentation of their food is very good, it won't compare to some high end sushi restaurants which have superb presentations. The quality of their food has always been on par with the highest end sushi restaurants I have eaten in. I went the other day with a couple of friends and I have to say it was a nice cozy place to spend the day with a couple of friends. The sushi was tasty, the service was great. They were so polite and friendly. To the person below, this is Canada. Not Japan or anywhere else in Asia, where their specialties are Asian food. Also didn't help the fact you had high expectations going in which could have affected your overall impression. "Worst sushi" is not something I would use for this restaurant. I'm not a professional food critique but I can easily tell the food quality was superb with great, great taste. Although the place isn't new or fancy, it's great for casual family dine-in and quick takeout. Sometimes it gets really busy on weekends, longer wait than usual but worth the wait :p If you are looking for a place with great food taste, this place is right for you. I'd say sashimi varieties and sushi plates are the best as they are of the freshest quality. Also the place is quite small so not adequate for big party size though. Service is really great, I think the restaurant is run by family and the lady is really kind, always making sure the food is ok, giving lots of smiles, friendly atmosphere. Read more

I've probably been here 3 or 4 times now. I keep coming back because the service is so good! Not to mention the food is fantastic (the complimentary crunchy soup is to die for). The last time I went, my table got the spider roll, seaweed salad, green dragon roll, spicy salmon roll, and some other roll (I can't remember the name). They were delicious! All was served in a sequential manner; we were served complimentary soup immediately as we sat down, then we ordered, after which we were served complimentary green salad while we waited for our rolls. We were never without food! With all that's included with the rolls, the value is really great. Although it's not too impressive from the outside, the inside is pretty good. It's not fancy, but very laid back. I took my grandmother here for her first sushi experience, and she loved it. I had such good service today, that I had to give these guys some publicity! While Zen is our favourite Japanese Restaurant, my boyfriend and I have enjoyed dining here for their enoki maki (thin slices of beef wrapped around enoki-Japanese mushrooms). Their nigiri and sashimi while delicious is not a priority for us to order as they serve very thin small pieces for the price you pay. We have also had their sukiyaki (we cook ourselves on the table) and it is large enough for 3 people, although much more expensive ($60 for 2 people which includes rice and raw egg for dipping) than other restaurants where we have enjoyed the same. The sukiyaki comes traditionally (as they served), with slices of thin sukiyaki beef, tofu, Chinese cabbage, green onion, oyster mushrooms, shitake mushrooms and regular mushrooms, transparent thin noodles and onion. Their broth was excellent-not too sweet. A great meal to have on a cold day. Read more

My spouse and I are here 2 to 3 times a week. That's how much we love Sapporo. We always order the same thing (salmon bento). Salmon Sashimi is always fresh, the spicy handrolls are spicy and very good. The eel sushi is excellent. Do not expect fast service especially during dinner time, or Friday/Saturday.
