I had found it hard to understand so many...

I had found it hard to understand so many unfavouarble reviews for Pepperberries, I have eaten here many, many times and always enjoy the service and food. So I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree, as it seems like I am at a completely different restaurant than those leaving the horrible reviews. I'll be back again soon!

Below expectations

This restaurant was ridiculously overpriced for what we got. The lamb mains came with veggies that were barely warm and were very dry... as if it sat there for a long time. The waiter was a pain, he would not leave us. I couldn't believe it. We will spend our money elsewhere...

It was very nice - we will be back. Our server did a wonderful job, we loved the lamb and kangaroo. Request: Aussie beer, like Crown lager.

The decor is quaint and not obnixious and when I made the reservation, I told them it was our anniversary and they gave us argueably the best table. The crab fondue was tasty and light but nothing to write home about. My husband's lamb was excellent though I ordered the chicken and it was pretty dry but moderatly well prepared. The highlight of the night was definitely the sticky toffee pudding that we shared for dessert. The waiters pushes it on everyone but with good sense. It's one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. A note on the service. The waiter really was a bit over the top. We wanted to have a nice romantic dinner and though he was REALLY nice (and not that phoney nice), he sometimes talked too much. So much so that I wouldn't suggest you go there for anything romantic, but with a group of friends for a fun evening. But that being said, I wouldn't really recommend this place for anything other than dessert. I mean, it was reasonably good but I really didn't feel like we got what we paid for. Our meal was almost $200 and normally when we spend that, we want something that blows our mind. Oh well - lesson learned.
